OUR MATERIALS

PROPER CARE AND HANDLING OF YOUR JEWELRY CAN HELP IT MAINTAIN ITS BEAUTY AND SPARKLE FOR YEARS TO COME.  ITS IMPORTANT TO TAKE PROPER CARE TO ENSURE IT LASTS.

9K/14K SOLID GOLD

When properly cared for, our solid gold pieces can last forever. With its beautiful, subtle hue, solid gold will not oxides or discolor, so you can wear your jewelry every day, everywhere.

What to know about wearing gold jewelry

14k gold jewelry is more durable than 18k gold, which is softer and susceptible to scratching and bending. To keep your 14k gold jewelry looking its best, be mindful of how you wear it. Any physically challenging activity could impact your jewelry.

How to store gold jewelry

When not being worn, store your jewelry in a safe, dry place to protect it from the elements of daily exposure.

How to clean gold jewelry

While 14k gold is made to last a lifetime, it does require gentle care and occasional polishing.

To maintain the shine of your jewelry, gently clean it with a soft-bristled brush or cloth using warm water and detergent-free soap.

Don’t use abrasive cleaners.

Ultrasonic cleaners are safe to use on 14k gold jewelry.

925 STERLING SILVER

925 Sterling Silver is a lightweight metal made of 92.5% pure silver. It’s highly durable and designed for everyday wear. What to know about wearing sterling silver jewelry:

Proactive maintenance is the best way to prolong the lifespan of sterling silver.

Clean by wiping with a soft, damp cloth. To remove tarnish, buff gently with our Byjenniferlynn Made Jewelry Cloth.

Ultrasonic cleaners are safe to use on silver jewelry.

Store in a safe, dry place.

HOW DO I KEEP MY SILVER JEWELRY CLEAN?

Wearing silver will keep it looking nice, as once silver is put in a drawer, or in hot pools, it starts to oxidize/tarnish. To remove any tarnish use a silver polishing cloth or use a soft tooth brush and warm water.

GOLD VERMEIL

Not to be confused with regular gold plating, our vermeil (pronounced ver-may) is a thick layer (2.5 microns) of 18k solid gold on sterling silver. It lasts longer and provides the look and feel of gold jewelry at a fraction of the price. All of our 18k gold vermeil pieces are stamped with “925”.

GOLD PLATED JEWELRY

  • If irritation occurs due to an allergic reaction, try applying a thin coat of clear nail polish over your jewelry. The nail polish will act as a barrier between your skin and the jewelry.

How to clean gold plated jewelry

We recommend to gently use a jewelry cloth to clean your pieces. Do not use harsh chemicals or cleaners that aren't specifically made for gold-plated jewelry.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VERMEIL AND GOLD FILLED?

Gold vermeil is similar to gold-plated jewelry but the difference is that the layer of gold is thicker (2.5 microns to be exact) and the metal underneath is sterling silver. Gold-filled jewelry, contrary to the name, is not actually filled with gold. Rather, a thick layer of gold is bonded to another metal, such as brass or copper which can often cause skin reactions.

STAINLESS STEEL

Stainless steel is one of the most affordable type of metals used in crafting jewelry - Unlike other softer materials, it can withstand most daily activities without sustaining corrosion and scratches. Plus, it doesn't tarnish so it looks good even with minimal maintenance! Our gold-plated stainless steel jewelry is made by electroplating 18k gold onto durable stainless steel.

FRESHWATER PEARLS

Our freshwater pearls are carefully selected from oysters and freshwater mussels.
